Susie Rhee, MD, is a board-certified female plastic surgeon at Plastic Surgery Associates of Long Island in Roslyn Heights, New York. Dr. Rhee is based in Nassau County, New York, but serves all of Long Island. She is a dedicated patient advocate whose priorities include patient safety, satisfaction, and excellence in clinical care.

Dr. Rhee completed her plastic surgery residency at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia, followed by a prestigious aesthetic surgery fellowship with the world-renowned Dr. James C. Grotting in Birmingham, Alabama. She was previously in private practice in Florida, specializing exclusively in cosmetic surgery, but afterward spent time at one of most premier cosmetic surgery clinics in Gangnam, Seoul, South Korea. This international education allowed her to learn the latest advancements and techniques in Asian patients, including Asian blepharoplasty and Asian rhinoplasty. She is also fully trained in general surgery.

Dr. Rhee was instilled with the values of compassion and uncompromising patient care at an early age when her own father was lost to a battle with leukemia. Her formal training in classical violin cultivated meticulous hand-eye coordination, discipline, and excellent technical skills. Her background in fine arts has enabled her to appreciate the anatomy better and foster an artistic eye.

Dr. Rhee specializes in breast augmentation, breast lift, breast reductions, abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), mommy makeover, liposuction, labiaplasty, and facial cosmetic procedures. These procedures include face and neck lifts, eyelid lifts, brow lifts, nose surgery (rhinoplasty), and chemical peels for skin resurfacing and rejuvenation. She is experienced in most cosmetic surgical procedures and brings new techniques in Asian blepharoplasty (double eyelid procedure), cosmetic breast surgery, oculoplastics, and rhinoplasty.

Dr. Rhee is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Aesthetic Society (American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery), and the Aesthetic Surgery Education and Research Foundation.

Dr. Rhee has hospital privileges at NYU Winthrop, NYU Langone, Lenox Hill Hospital/MEETH, Good Samaritan Hospital, Glen Cove Hospital, Huntington Hospital, and Peconic Bay Medical Center.

Dr. Rhee has a distinguished history of awards for high performance. She was honored with the Kenna S. Given, MD, Plastic Surgery Clinical Award at the Medical College of Georgia during her year as administrative Chief Resident in recognition of her clinical aptitude. This award is the most exemplary demonstration of her dedication to patient care, safety, and surgical performance. She has also presented many papers and presentations at both regional and national meetings.

In addition to her skill as a plastic surgeon, Dr. Rhee is also an artist with considerable talents in both medical illustration and music. Prior to medical school, she received a scholarship to the Royal College of Music in London, England, for classical violin performance. Her medical illustrations have been used by other surgeons when explaining new procedures. She has also participated in medical mission trips to Colombia and Bangladesh.
